My XS650

So about a year ago I traded a 74 bmw 2002 (I fucking miss that car) for a really nice, running xs650.  Rode it stock for the winter, went back to school in the spring, got distracted blah blah blah.  Now Im trying to get it back together for the Brooklyn Invitational Sept 22nd.

How I got it:

Chopped off the rear hoop, mocked up the stance with some Honda z50 shocks (I will put Rebel 250 shocks on it soon, the z50's are the same height)

Want to put a cb360 rear fender on it

Shortened, raised, narrowed the rear hoop and fit it back together, hung the fender

Mounted the sissy bar I made

Moddified the z bars that I had mocked up on it with some bicycle bars I had around to make some nice rabbit ears.  got an old amber spotlight for the headlight.

Shortened and narrowed the original seat pan, still needs work.

Scored a cheap superglide tank, removed all of the rust with the battery charger method (worked really great)

Still need to mount the tank, finish the wiring, and a few other small things. I have some funky exhaust ideas that will have to wait until after the BK invitational.  I literally did all of the work in the dirt in my backyard.

doing it

tack welded my frame and strut mounts, and made some mock up struts out of angle iron just to get it standing on its own 2 wheels, and get the sissy bar holding itself up too.  It is all going to have to come apart to get finish welded with a tig but it makes me feel better to see it holding up its own weight without any wood blocks and stuff.

My brothers bike.

yass yass yass

We are jamming now.
Got a nice working headlight and tail light at a swap.
bolted up my 21 inch wheel, which is possibly the nicest part I own.
Started cutting up the lame Yamaha tank i had, and its actually coming out nice.
So close I can taste it, need a few bills and quite a few hours.
Now accepting donations.
